UCY – University of Cyprus
The University of Cyprus (UCY) is the oldest and largest public university in Cyprus, and participates in this proposal via the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence (KIOS CoE). The KIOS CoE operates within the University of Cyprus and was established in 2008, advancing into a European Research and Innovation Center of Excellence in 2017. It is the largest research and innovation center in Cyprus and conducts research and innovation activities emphasizing monitoring, control, management and security of critical infrastructures. The goal of the Center is to conduct outstanding interdisciplinary research and innovation and produce new knowledge and tools that can be applied to solve real-life problems.
For FEDORA, KIOS CoE will lead the optimization of multimodal transport hubs. Optimization algorithms will be developed that consider, among other factors, aerial transportation services and UAV-based traffic monitoring. Solutions will be validated in the Intelligent Transportation Systems testbed at UCY and demonstrated in small-scale field trials in the city of Nicosia.

National Technical University of Athens
The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the largest technical university in Greece and one of the country's leading institutions in transportation research and innovation. Over the past 30 years, NTUA has participated in and coordinated more than 250 national and international research projects, contributing significantly to advances in transportation science and engineering. NTUA's mission is to educate highly skilled engineers and researchers while advancing scientific knowledge in the field of transportation planning and engineering. Its research activities cover a wide range of areas, including traffic management, traffic forecasting, travel demand modelling, transport planning and operations, transport policy and safety assessment, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), connected and automated mobility, and emerging traffic automation technologies.
Within FEDORA, NTUA leads the development of the Evolutionary Simulation Space, an advanced framework for network-wide transport analysis and decision support. NTUA combines large-scale simulation, reinforcement learning, Sim2Real methodologies, and AI-based anomaly detection to evaluate and optimize mobility management strategies, supporting more efficient, resilient, and sustainable multimodal transportation systems.
